Electricity Energy Production, Transmission and Distribution Program

The Electricity Energy Production, Transmission and Distribution program started its education and training under the ELECTRICITY and ENERGY Department in our Vocational School in the 2019-2020 academic year. The program is a four-semester higher education program that provides theoretical and practical education to train energy technicians to meet the need for equipped intermediate staff in conventional or renewable energy facilities in the future, in addition to courses oriented towards basic sciences. All theoretical and application courses in the program, which lasts two years, are held at our school. Currently, there is only formal education. The language of instruction is Turkish.

Program Objective

The aim is to train energy technicians to meet the need for equipped intermediate staff in conventional or renewable energy facilities in the process from the production of electrical energy to the end user, who have knowledge and skills related to their profession. In addition, it is aimed to train contemporary practitioners who can take part in all stages from planning to implementation, who can run theoretical knowledge and practice together, who have gained research skills, and who have grasped the economic, ethical and legal aspects of the profession.

Competencies and Career Opportunities of Students

Students who successfully complete the Electricity Energy Production, Transmission and Distribution program will have the following knowledge, skills and competencies;

• Mastering the terminology related to the profession,

• Making drawings using CAD Program,

• Being able to use basic office programs and professional programs,
• Mastering Basic Electricity, Energy concepts and terms,
• Students to exhibit appropriate behaviors by knowing social behavior, courtesy, etiquette and protocol rules in professional life and to develop their organization skills,
• Having basic knowledge about occupational safety, worker health, occupational accidents and first aid and application,
• Having the skills necessary in professional life and using these skills in the work environment,
• Electrical measurements,
• Having knowledge about alternative energy sources and fossil fuels.
• Having knowledge about the production, transmission and distribution of electrical energy.
• Having knowledge about conventional and renewable energy production facilities.

Professional Profile of Graduates

Graduates of the Electricity Energy Production, Transmission and Distribution Program primarily work in conventional and renewable energy production power plants, transmission and distribution switch facilities; In the electricity, electronics and communication departments of public institutions such as EIE, TEİAŞ, EÜAŞ, TEDAŞ, private workplaces, or they can open their own workplaces and work after meeting the legal conditions.
