Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Bucak Emin Gülmez Vocational School of Technical Sciences Design Department Graphic Design Program students signed a meaningful project in line with the motto “From Universal Knowledge to Social Contribution.” The artistic posters prepared by the students, containing national values, were gifted to Karapınar Middle School located in Bucak district of Burdur.
Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Bucak Emin Gülmez Vocational School of Technical Sciences Design Department Graphic Design Program students presented their poster designs, prepared within the scope of the “Visual Design II” course conducted by Assoc. Prof. Fatıma Tokgöz Gün, to middle school students with the aim of social contribution.
The prepared works were gifted to Karapınar Middle School in Burdur/Bucak district on May 27, 2025, under the coordination of Social Studies Teacher Güney Selen working at the school.
In the project, the posters prepared by graphic design students thematically addressed national unity and solidarity, historical consciousness, love of the homeland, and cultural values. It is aimed that the posters, with both artistic and educational content, will inspire the students of Karapınar Middle School.
The event aimed to develop university-school cooperation, strengthen the perception of university and art among middle school students, and contribute to increasing the level of national sentiment and consciousness.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatıma Tokgöz Gün emphasized the importance of university students sharing the artistic knowledge and skills they acquired during their education process with society, stating that such practices both increase professional motivation in students and contribute to a university understanding integrated with society.
Thanks were extended to all students involved in the project and to the teachers and administrators of Karapınar Middle School, and it is planned to continue similar social responsibility projects in the future.
