Within the scope of alumni meetings, on 09.11.2023 at 14:30, we brought together our students with Mr. Mustafa GENCER, a 2016 graduate of our Vocational School's Health Information Systems Technician program, Information Processing Manager at Antalya Manavgat Life Hospitals, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean Informatics Association, and Mr. Servet YAMAN, a 2017 graduate of the Health Information Systems Technician program, Information Processing Manager at Alanya Şifa Medical Center. GENCER and YAMAN, who first met with the students and shared their knowledge and experiences in an enjoyable conversation, stated in their speeches that they would not withhold their support for the students in the sector after graduation. They talked about what they encountered in terms of finding a job after graduating from the Health Information Systems Technician program, their duties and responsibilities at the institution they work for, and mentioned that many friends who come here may lack self-confidence, but when one works, they can do anything, and they said, "We did it, you can do it too."
GENCER and YAMAN stated that compared to the years we were educated, there have been updates in the courses given, and that having the HBYS programs used in hospitals currently installed in the laboratory environment and providing education in this way would be very beneficial after graduation, making them more prepared for the sector. GENCER and YAMAN, who have been working as information processing managers for 5 years, talked about their knowledge and experiences up to that point and mentioned how students should follow a path in the sector. In the interview, which took place in the form of a mutual question and answer session with the students, they talked about the general functioning of the sector and expressed what kind of difficulties our students might face. Emphasizing that internship training is the place where they will direct their lives, they mentioned that they should be willing, determined, and strong in this regard. Our speakers emphasized that they would not withhold the necessary support for students in terms of job opportunities and internships.
